Matt Kalil (born July 6, 1989) is a former American football offensive tackle. He played college football at the University of Southern California (USC) and was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings fourth overall in the 2012 NFL Draft.
NFL Career: After a promising start to his career with the Vikings, earning a Pro Bowl selection in his rookie season, Kalil's performance declined due to injuries. He later played for the Carolina Panthers and the Houston Texans but didn't reach the same level of success.
College Career: At USC, Kalil was a highly regarded offensive lineman, earning All-American honors and the Morris Trophy (awarded to the best offensive and defensive linemen in the Pac-12 Conference).
Family: He comes from a football family; his father, Frank Kalil, played in the NFL, and his brother, Ryan Kalil, was a Pro Bowl center for the Carolina Panthers.
